I was blessed to be born into family of a long line of wonderful bakers. Our mom started baking at around five or so, with her dad. She continued that tradition with my sister and me. She instilled the ethic and integrity of “scratch” baking, using the best and freshest ingredients available to us.
One of my first baking memories was probably around five, as well. I remember being in the kitchen, eager to crack an egg, measure some flour, or anything just to get something into the oven. Back then, you had to tip-toe in the kitchen to make sure the cake didn’t fall. It was extremely exciting, creating something edible and delicious from mixing some ingredients.
Let’s fast forward to adulthood and how a business was birthed from a childhood passion. My husband and I were embarking on many new ventures, that were oh so stressful! I told him I needed to bake “something” to relieve some of the stress. We started taking the cupcakes, cakes, pies and cobblers to our jobs and got incredible feedback. It wasn’t long before we were getting orders, special requests, and then, one day he said these magical words: “We should start a business. ”
So, here we are, Victoria’s Cupcakes & More, officially birthed in April 2013, created from a passion, inspired by life, and thriving with love, partnership, and creativity.
